First Time Guests
Coming along to a new church for the first time can be daunting. Thinking about coming along to Liberty Church this Sunday? We want to make your visit as great an experience as possible. You may find it helpful to connect with someone at the start of the service through our host team. Our host team will welcome you on arrival, connect with you and show you to a seat.

What time does it start?
We have a morning service at 11am and our Gospel service at 6pm, every Sunday.
Where is the church?
We meet at Liberty Church, Station Road, Rotherham S60 1JH.
What should you wear?
Most people who attend are usually dressed in a casual manner, for example t-shirt & jeans. However, if you would like to wear your new suit or dress you are totally welcome!
Where can you park?
We have a free car park available, just opposite the church.
What should you expect?
We have vibrant morning and evening services and you will receive a warm welcome from our team on arrival.
- On Sunday mornings we invite you to come from 10.30am in the foyer entrance to meet some new people and try some of our very reasonably priced and very nice coffee.
- On Sunday evenings we serve free tea, coffee and cakes after the service until around 8pm.

Our morning services launch with a time of celebration and singing. This normally lasts 45 minutes and will be directed from the front. All the words are on the screens so if want to, you can sing along. We encourage you to relax and engage at your own pace, even if that means not singing at all.
Most Sundays we also express our thanks to God through our offering. Naturally, you don’t have to give. If you are a first time guest, we encourage you to simply let the bucket pass you by.
We may also have a time of communion, where we invite those who wish to remember Jesus’ sacrifice through taking the bread and wine (fruit juice) to queue up during one of the songs to receive this.
After worship we usually have some short announcements about church events coming up, followed by a chance to shake hands with and meet some of those sitting nearby.
Normally after worship we have a relevant and meaningful talk. Our talks are challenging, biblical, inspiring and applicable to all of our lives. We design them to last around 40 minutes.
At the end of the talk we reflect on what we have heard and there may be an opportunity to come to the front to respond. We often provide an opportunity to make a decision to follow Jesus at this time, especially at our evening Gospel Service; there is no pressure in this moment but we always want to give everyone the opportunity.
And after that – well; we are done! We are friendly bunch and usually the service ends with a chance to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. There is also lots of useful information at our information desk if you want to find out more, either before or after the service.
What if I have children?
If you have children aged 3 upwards they are very welcome to take part in our Kids Church which takes place during the Sunday morning preach and is announced from the front during the service. Parents or carers with babies and tots (under 5’s) are welcome to use our crèche facilities (children to be supervised please) where the service audio is streamed live and you can view the congregation from a large upstairs window. Do you have any events for Newcomers?
We love welcoming new people to Liberty and are always open to ideas to give you the best welcome possible. At the moment we are running our quarterly ‘Welcome Lunch’ events where you are warmly invited for a free lunch after the service. There will be a short talk to introduce our church and you can meet some of the leaders, ask questions and find out more. Please contact us to register for this.
